Youngsters Girls Soccer Club

In the Beginning of 2009 Aluta Gantsho and her friends from Khayelitsha decided to start a Girls Soccer Team called Youngsters. They have more than 20 members. Most of their members are 14 years upwards and played Soccer for long, but they realized that most of the Soccer Clubs only focus on Boys Soccer, so they saw the need for a Soccer Club where girls can explore their potential, show their talents in soccer and just enjoy themselves. The Youngsters usually have matches on weekends against other Girls Soccer Teams from the area. So far there is no real Soccer League for girls, but the Youngsters Girls are optimistic that one day they'll have regular Tournaments like the Boys have. Therefore they joined the Children's Movement hoping that they can encourage other Girls also to join their Soccer Club and that eventually there will be a Girls Soccer Movement with strong teams that can form a League.
