Children's Movement - South Africa

Because of the crucial events in autumn 2008 we decided to take action in our Anti-Racism/Xenophobia-Campaign. We had 3 big Events this year on Xenophobia and a number of preparing and evaluating Workshops.

The anti-racism and anti-xenophobia conference held on the 9th of August 2008 was part of a long term campaign around these two problems facing our communities. It was organised by our Network of children's organisations.

It became very clear while preparing for the conference and even during the conference itself that especially children are very much affected by racism and xenophobia, and they therefore need to be active participants in the fight against racism and xenophobia.
